Zuni Restaurant in Patrick Street, Kilkenny, close to the city centre, has transformed its front lounge area into a café deli by day and wine bar by night. The café serves breakfast, pastries and coffee from 8 am untilnoon and lunch is served from noon to 5 pm. Wine and Tapas is served from 6.00pm each night. Takeout meals, coffee etc are available all day! Zuni was established in 2000 and became an instant hit for both locals and tourists . It has been listed in the in the Bridgestone Guide top 100 restaurants in Ireland for the past 8 years and listed in the Michelin guide since 2001, a testament to its excellent food and ambience. The introduction of the café at the front is aimed at bringing the fine food in Zuni to a wider market. Now you can have a sit-in or takeaway breakfast, morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea, knowing that the freshly-prepared food comes from the kitchen of one of Kilkenny’s top restaurants. Zunis award-winning restaurant has also been refurbished and operates as before where the food is prepared with the best, fresh local ingredients available. We use local producers where possible, Mark Williams, Gowran, Pat Mullins, Friary Street, Whites Butchers, Rose Inn St., Goatsbridge Trout, Thomastown, Knockrinna Cheese, Stoneyford, Mary Mcevoy, Piltown, for Cupcakes, Gubeen Smokehouse for cured meats, Frank Hederman, Smoked Salmon, to name but a few. The pottery in the Café is from Rosemary Durr in Castlecomer, the wooden chopping boards are from Eddy Fogarty, a local craftsman. Our early bird menu is available from 6pm every day except Saturday. All food sold at Zuni is produced in the kitchen daily, by qualified chefs from Kilkenny and Liverpool and are members of Eurotoque, the International Community of Chefs. Fresh soups, sandwiches, breads, ice creams , pastries, jams, chutneys etc. Our aim is to serve fresh food free from artificial flavours and preservatives. All foods are available to take home each day. Pre-ordered sandwich platters for meetings and conferences are available. Wedding parties – for up to 80 people - can be catered for. Outside catering is available for your special occasion with a wide variety of themes, we are trying to create a unique catering service not available in Kilkenny before, so book Zuni for your outside catering needs Why not try out Kilkenny’s and newest breakfast, lunch and daytime food cafés, eat in or take out.
