2012 Events (more to be added)Friday 1st June, 8pm, adm: €10.00 - Nore Flow Iarla O Lionáird, Sean Nós singer and Michael Coady, poet, respond to the theme ‘river’. Added to this exciting mix is The Water Project a hydroeletroacoustic ensemble who will create an original music work using water from the River Nore. Saturday 2nd June, 11am - 4pm - Crafts & Farmers Market Come and buy the freshest, most local produce possible, support your local community and economy, and help the environment by reducing food-miles. The Happy Valley craft and farmers market has everything on offer from, fresh fish..Knockdrinna cheeses, local jams and eggs ,Two little cooks home made cakes and Truffle fairy chocolates, organic veg, pottery, candles, plants, jewellery, sample some craft demos and face painting for the kids and live music plus lots lots more..... Saturday 2nd June Wallis Bird plays live at The Bridgebrook Beergarden Sunday 3rd June, from 1pm At Murphys Beergarden, see the finest of new music from our fair isle and further afield take to the stage at Murphys from 1pm…. This talk will seek to highlight the importance of the river as an archaeological resource with special reference to work on the River Nore. This will include discussion of the underwater excavations at Johns Bridge, Kilkenny; the archaeological survey of Island Weir, Thomastown; and the forthcoming investigation at Newtown Jerpoint. The industrial heritage and historic commercial activities of the river will also be explored
